Take a current political and/or social issue or crisis that you did not address in the mid-term, and explain how the Intelligence Community (IC) could or should respond collectively to this issue. In your response, explain: 1) what types of intelligence should be used in analyzing this situation; 2) why it affects the US, and 3) which agencies should be involved in responding to this situation.

QUESTION 2:
Think about the impact that espionage and covert actions have had on our national security. Choose either a current or historical event that involved espionage and/or covert actions on the part of the US. In your response:

1) Briefly and concisely describe the event; 2) explain its relevance to US national security; and 3) what kinds of covert actions were undertaken by any state or non-state actors. What covert actions were reported in open sources?

Note: This question may be easier to answer with an historical event since declassification of such events sometimes occurs after a certain period of time.

QUESTION 3:
Think about the new threats confronting our Nation and how the post 9-11 intelligence architecture is designed to support national security:
1) Explain about emerging threats to US national security – what are these threats and how could other threats evolve in the future?; 2) What has been the impact of such threats on our national security?, and 3) analyze how the post 9-11 intelligence architecture has impacted our efforts at national security – How has the IC been impacted by a new organizational structure and increase in funding for intelligence analysis?
